TULIP TREES - MARKER
#7
The tulip trees are a
pioneer tree. They sprout up quickly where open land is abandoned.
They are the tall slim trees with the light gray bark. Driving
thru where you see the tulip trees reveal that this place was once
cleared and farmed. These trees will continue to thrive for a long
time but will eventually be shaded out by the hemlock forest. Here
in this area you can hear the sounds of the Roaring Fork stream
with its gentle lulls and you will be able to see the stream grow
in size and start to roar as you follow the road down the
mountain.
