WELCOME! At each marker, there is a page flipping through highlight pictures for that marker, along with drop down menus letting you choose whatever you'd like to tour through at that marker!

Don't forget to look for bonus links near the bottom of the page, and at the bottom of EVERY marker is a menu button letting you go TO the NEXT marker, or BACK to the PREVIOUS marker. You also may go back to the main map and click on the location that the marker exists, or choose with the drop down menu.

Whenever you are in a cabin, barn, attic, water mill, or whatever...make sure you click on the windows, doors, etc. to look out. The FIRST time you click on a picture may give you an enlargement of that picture, just click on the window or door, and see the ACTUAL VIEW from that door or window!

ROARING FORK MOTOR NATURE TOUR:

On this scenic drive into the foothills of the Smokies you will see virgin forests - clear, cascading streams - and vestiges of pioneer farms. A hiking trail leads to Grotto Falls and Mt. LeConte.

Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail is a ONE-WAY loop road beginning here and ending in Gatlinburg.

Average Driving Time!
Speed Limit: 10 Miles Per Hour!

NOTE: There Are NO Restroom Facilities For The Next 5.1 Miles
(An Approximate 1 Hour One-Way No-Turning Back Drive!)

As you approach the intersection where Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail STARTS...You will see where the tour cuts of to your RIGHT where there is a a sign warning: "Very Narrow Crooked One-Way Road - For Cars, Vans And Pickup Trucks ONLY. If you continue straight here (and not turn right into the one-way tour) the road loops back towards Gatlinburg (approximately 3.0 miles ahead).

As you turn RIGHT beginning the trail, on your LEFT As you turn right into the trail, on your left is a sign telling about the tour, and to it's left is a podium where you can buy a small guide for 50 cents.
